Project Logistics for Cargo That Needs a Plan
Oversized, overweight, out-of-gauge, multi-piece, multi-mode. When the shipment is a project, it gets planned like one.
OVERVIEW
About our project logistics service
Some shipments cannot simply be booked. They must be engineered as an operation. A production line relocating between countries. Out-of-dimension cargo (ODC) that exceeds every standard limit. Heavy units that require special handling at every transfer. Multi-piece consignments where sequence and timing decide whether the project succeeds.
Project logistics is Frequent Shipping's deepest capability: end-to-end planning and multimodal coordination for complex cargo. We assess the pieces, plan the modes and handovers, coordinate the customs and documentation burden that complex cargo carries, and manage the move as one accountable operation, from first lift to final position.
Cargo we treat as projects
- Out-of-dimension cargo (ODC)
- Heavy machinery and plant equipment
- Factory and production-line relocations
- Multi-piece industrial consignments
- Oversized units combining sea and road legs
SCOPE / WHAT'S INCLUDED
What our project logistics service includes
Move planning & assessment
Dimensions, weights, handling points and constraints mapped before anything is booked.
Multimodal coordination
Sea, road and air legs sequenced and managed as one operation with clean handovers.
ODC & heavy cargo handling
Out-of-dimension and heavy pieces moved with appropriately specialized transport arrangements.
Customs & documentation coordination
The heavier documentation load of project cargo prepared and managed throughout.
Single-point project management
One accountable team and one point of contact across the entire move.
VALUE / KEY BENEFITS
Why it works
Complex project cargo expertise is one of the core reasons customers choose Frequent Shipping. This is the service where planning discipline, multimodal coordination and a single accountable contact matter most, and where we are at our best.
Planned before it moves
Every transfer, lift and border is thought through before the first piece leaves.
One accountable operation
Multiple modes and providers, coordinated by a single responsible team.
Complexity absorbed for you
You see a managed project and clear updates, not a dozen vendors to chase.
Documentation under control
Complex cargo means complex paperwork; it is prepared and tracked as part of the plan.
OPS / PROCESS
How the process works
A real sequence you can plan against, from first enquiry to completed shipment.
01
Project assessment
We study the cargo list, dimensions, constraints and destination requirements in detail.
02
Move plan & quotation
Modes, sequence, handling and documentation are planned and quoted as one operation.
03
Execution & coordination
Each leg is executed and monitored, with proactive communication at every milestone.
04
Final positioning & closure
Cargo is delivered to its final position and the project documented and closed.
FAQ / COMMON QUESTIONS
Project Logistics questions, answered
What counts as project cargo?
Cargo becomes a project when standard booking is not enough: pieces exceeding normal dimensions or weights (ODC), moves combining multiple transport modes, multi-piece consignments that must arrive in sequence, or shipments whose handling and documentation need dedicated planning.
What is ODC in logistics?
ODC stands for out-of-dimension cargo (sometimes over-dimensional cargo): pieces that exceed the standard length, width, height or weight limits of normal containerized or road transport, and therefore need specially planned handling and transport arrangements.
Do you manage the customs side of project cargo?
Yes, customs and documentation coordination is built into the project plan. Complex cargo typically carries a heavier documentation burden, and preparing it early is one of the main ways a project stays on schedule.
How early should we involve you in a project move?
As early as possible, ideally while the project itself is still being planned. Early involvement lets us assess constraints, advise on packing and dimensions, and build a realistic schedule before commitments are made.
